Steve has over 23 years experience in tourist attraction management on the Gold Coast. He is highly regarded in the amusement attractions industry in the areas of strategic business planning, safety and operational management and project planning.

He is past president and current executive board member of the Australian Amusement, Leisure and Recreation Association (AALARA) and previous board member of the International Amusement Association (IAAPA).

In 2001 Steve was appointed as Chief Operating Officer for the Warner Village Theme Park Group overseeing 2,500 staff at Warner Bros Movie World, Sea World, Wet ’n’ Wild Water World, Australian Outback Spectacular and Paradise Country.

 

Steve’s key areas of guidance as Director are to;

  • Ensure that the company develops all opportunities and maximises its performance.
  • Work with senior representatives of the Gold Coast Tourism network to ensure optimum levels of support for the project both in a general sense and also for the future sales distribution gateways
  • Liaise with the Queensland Division of Workplace Health and Safety to ensure a smooth transition for design registration and for general approvals and certifications at the various stages up to opening.
  • Work closely with the architectural and construction groups and attend planning meetings when necessary to optimise general construction expenditure and associated planning efficiencies
  • Selection of key senior staff for the operational management of the facility and assist with the development of job descriptions and associated responsibilities. A key focus area would be the sales and marketing sector.
  • Ensure general compliance of any corporate governance areas that may not be fully developed.
  • Ensure optimum levels of operational efficiencies and oversee the development of all operational procedures and associated compliant documentation.
  • Work closely with the operating business Information Technology systems suppliers to ensure optimum user friendly levels for operating staff and general interconnectivity with all sales channels.
  • Recommend and negotiate with potential corporate partners to secure best value levels of sponsorship support in both direct funds and with ‘in kind’ contributions.
